I put in a trouble ticket for the FooDesigner. After all, it's supposed to work no matter what. Irritating.

Also, if you folx have noticed, sometimes we get odd points displayed after walking or scooping pets, like +385, or my fave +2006. FooKate thought this was weird indeed and would like it if we could possibly catch a PrtSc of this and note which pet to which this has happened. It's not as prevalent as it once was or I'm just not as lucky (or unlucky) to see it as often lately.

FooMojo's foulups should be reported. We also need to mention them to each other so we know how widespread they truly are. Still, just because one person reports something doesn't mean others shouldn't bother - more reports can mean more pressure brought to bear to fix a problem in a timely manner.

the oddball gem amounts that show up - still fairly often, that i see - seem to be an artifact of caring in m.foopets : the accrued points for a given pet flash as a total when it is tended in www.foopet mode, and have no bearing on running total as they have already been added. concerning as well is the erratic adding of new points as some, all, or none of what is due registers.

wellllll...it needs a bit of work, and i'm not sure it's all that much faster - but it's a heck of a lot less boring, and they seem to enjoy each other in a bizarre sort of way, i think i even caught a couple of them humping.

experimented with the group walk feature...maybe it's because i have pokeys in the mix, but good lord, what a wrestling match. repeated freeze in the process of trying to load, and i didn't dare try to refresh as it would have gone back to the pet and cost what i had managed to gain...they need to find a better flash than shockwave, i think, it totally crashed before i was done. how are other folks doing with this?

i don't see using the Play Yard for anything other than amusement...as you have to open each pet's scene individually to check for messes, it's not really saving much time - if any - plus, for those who care, you lose the multiple FooSpinner hits. maybe after they work out a few of the bugs.

Lainee left her post? She was one of the better ones. I put in a trouble ticket and Freya died that day. I mentioned that while crying and apologized for the soggy screen. She offered her condolences and said she had ways of drying out screens and threads. The conversation went on far longer than the the problem and its resolution. She consoled me and we discussed both of our losses of furkids. She should have gotten a Purple Heart, Broken Class. Lainee was the only one of the Powers That Be that was so approachable. I hope she does well and recharges her batteries now that she's out of the lunacy and just enjoys her FooKids.

yes, Lainee, along with Kaylina, have been the two i depend on for help and information. i'm almost dreading the replacement - judging by the new Admin we got during the Beta epic, Foo does not smile on member-friendly staff.

Just found this blog and really like the content and new layout (vs. older "issues"). Hope this continues on - it's like having the inside scoop on Foo and the "foo"lishness that goes on there :o)~

we're all hoping so...things have apparently been a bit hectic in FooBA's RL lately, there hasn't been a new edition for a week or two.

The old Fooniverse groomer will be phased out. Since they yanked the stopwatch so you can watch your time, I figured they were trying to sour us off of it. My suspicions were confirmed when I reported a separate glitch in that particular groomer and a different glitch in the new groomer some time back. The old groomer will tell you how much time you have left after each phase, but that's not useful enough. Notice there was no general announcement? They knew there would be an uproar. Did they think there would be less if it disappeared? Well, it's not gone yet, so I'll wait to see if they will do the right thing this time. (Not holding my breath, of course...)

yes, and they have made the Fashion Shows free to enter and prizeless, though i understand from an ambassador that this was due to members using multiple accounts to vote their pets a win. must have made a big dent in FooBoutique sales, as those items can't be resold and aren't good for much else. they may plan to phase out the Fooniverse completely - it looks like everything outside of the Foto Studio and Game Lounge may be on the way out...and it wouldn't astound me if they went or were moved as well, especially the Foto Studio as it will become the last bastion of the cartoon-pet image mode, and turns no profit besides. too bad - even if they looked a bit funny, it was the only way to get group pix. the games section could be isolated, and foo will get a vast amount of bitspace back to make more "improvements" with (sigh)...well, better that than another fooshelter extinction.

I'm not surprised. When a contest wasn't filled up, they automatically added admins to fill the fashion shows. All too often, the admins would win, though I hear they didn't get the FD prize. That still meant that the people who paid to compete had no chance to win. This wasn't always the case, but it happened enough for people to scream bloody murder in the forum and complain in suggestions and member support. Also, they are phasing out items in the FooBoutique that you can get with FGs. That irks me. (I get my kitties a pair of sunglasses each when they get adopted now. They look cool in my FooFoto stories now. {giggle})

BTW, those items in the FooMart that are listed as "unlocked"? I figured out how to see at which level they get unlocked. I click on the item so I have a larger pic but more importantly, it's the only item on the page. Without clicking on the pic, I right-click on the page and select "view page source". To make it easier, search for the word "level". You will see the level at which it unlocks, then the statement that tells you why it unlocked for you ("because you are level xx").

clever! as far as the Fashion show fill-ins, that's one area i really don't see any possible culpability...and not only did they not get the prizes, they weren't even aware when their pets were plugged in. the show schedule prevented their waiting for the full eight entries, and running the show with only two or three entrants would have been even more unfair. as far as the paid entrants having "no chance to win", in my experience with shows, the "ringers" didn't win all THAT often...and as much vote-campaigning as i saw on forums and message boards, when they did, it was most likely a case of people voting AGAINST a disliked person's pets more than for the Admins. if the competitors were unable to garner enough votes, i don't know if it's fair to hold Admin responsible...(call the Vatican - FooBA4U just said Admin was in the right for once, lol)

I know how some people are about vote begging and vote stacking. It reminds me of the funny old days of the Daley political machine in Chicago: vote early, vote often. Don't forget to have the dead vote by proxy! (Death be not proud!) The admins entered didn't get much of a say, did they? (Some of them have that problem in other areas of FooMojo, I think, or learned not to speak to keep their jobs or just don't like making waves.) Eh, that happens a lot of places. I'm not calling the Vatican - too expensive! I'll call my favorite minister in La Jolla at University Lutheran Church. He'll be suitably stunned.

It doesn't matter to the kids if the admins were right or not. If they only perceive wrongdoing, they howl "The Unfair Song" in unison. That's one reason they are kids and their parents gave them electronic babysitters (to shut them up!). (My parents were smarter and kept me on a steady diet of science fiction & fantasy as home computers weren't available back in my day. Book junkie!)

yes, my first two "real" books, when i was three, were Adventures In Time and Space (still the best anthology, for my money) and Poe's Tales of Mystery and Imagination, which set my tastes for life. if it were just the kids howling, it wouldn't be nearly as comical - quite a few people more than old enough to know better made - and make - more noise than all the youngsters combined...and as this group includes several of the "FooNarks", they tend to get listened to. i agree that many Admins have learned to vote the party ticket and fly low : i wonder if we could convert enough to gain a majority? there are a LOT of "silent Admins" from the easrly days of the Foo conversion, who suspect were brought on board to keep them from leaving and taking hordes with them...which means they are veterans of just this sort of "improvement".

Notice the FooLette wheel, folks? This is the second day there are no FDs on it. Instead, 2000 and 5000 FG values are on it. That is hardly a substitute! I was able to adopt a few Foos because I have been lucky with the spinner. Now, I'm not going to spend my money on FooMojo just to satisfy their greed. They have taken so much from non ClubFoo members, and they think we won't resent it? It won't make us join - they haven't earned our trust and the privilege of having our money.

Very well written and to the point. In the forum I even had a thought of foo themselves replacing fd on the spin wheel to items from the mart. But...now that so much greed is showing at their end, I doubt if that will ever happen. I have gone to feedback suggesting we get our 2nd friends tab back but no words returned. It's a pain going back and forth to the profile tab. Using the back page does nothing either at my end. There is no way that I know of unless I actually write a letter to foomojo of how we all feel because I tried to email them and all I got in return was a few words from a support person for me to put it in the support section. I received no answers whatsoever. I feel as though we are being ignored on purpose. I have the same feeling that some new things are coming up that will not work. It makes no rhyme nor reason to me why things are put out to us (not really informing us) when in the first place the glitches lingering are not fixed.

it's hard to figure out just where they are trying to go with the site - which makes efforts to deal with it problematic...

AussieLover4ever said (transferred from message board) "I have great admiration for you and I know you are very smart and up on all things foo and I have been sending many peeps to lifeboat but then I actually went there and read it and I must disagree with you very strongly. Your economics in this particular instance is flawed and let me say I thought the same way also for a while and have "saved" many fosters and accounts but then I realized one thing! FOO does not care about the resources that we are using because their revenue is based on HOW MANY ACCOUNTS they can say they HAVE OPEN!! Like a newspaper and its circulation. Advertisers pay based on circulation or in the case of here "hits"! Using their resources only adds to their claim that they are viable, and you know when I realized this? We know that foo only does things for monetary gain never out of the goodness of their hearts so why then do they allow so many accounts to "live on" with NO PET! Because if they deleted the account they would have less "circulation". For instance they can tell advertisers that they have 4 million accounts ( just a made up figure for example purposes). Now they are not saying that 4 million people are visiting their site or that 4 million people have pets and would be looking at all the ads.. but that is what they are implying so therefore they can base their ads prices on a 4 million base. (think Super Bowl ad prices) IF however everyone who is leaving actually DELETED their accounts then all of a sudden foo can only show 2 million accounts then their advertisers would go elsewhere to someone else has 4 million accounts, effectively hitting it where it hurts in the revenue from the advertisers!! The revenue from us is a grain of sand on a whole beach compared to the advertisers $$ Just my humble opinion! Keep up the fantastic work you are doing for the sheep of fooville vs the wolves of admin. (and I know I am insulting wolves but it's a metaphor wolf lovers!)"

(PROFOUND apologies, it's "Aussies Rgr8", not "AussieLover4ever"...i misremembered)
our response was "thank you for a well-thought-out and interesting message! true to an extent - but their advertisers/sponsors are not stupid, and check the many online polling services who track activity as well as numbers - which restricting care to m mode strongly affects. if it were that simple, the site operators could create an endless array of accounts to artificially swell their ranks. newspaper circulation is based on how many are purchased - not printed - and the situation here is similar. we are trying to find ways people can effectively show their dissatisfaction without giving up their place, and pets. granted our answers are far from perfect, but it's all we've been able to come up with so far...and other considerations aside, it would appear that they are out to drive away all the people who want to see the site live up to its true ideals and potential, freeing server space for an endless succession of newbies who try, buy, and lose interest."
now let's hear YOUR input on this!

the point raised is that "deleted accounts send a message to sponsors", but as the percentage of deletes vs old abandoned Go-Pokey accounts alone is negligible, all it really does is hurt the pets and the members who care about them.
